Associate Professor of Dairy Science, Iowa State Agricultural College
1894:
Became one of the owners and publishers of the Farm and Dairy journal, with his father and brother.  The journal’s name was changed to Wallace’s Farm and Dairy, and changed again to Wallace’s Farmer.
1916:
Became head editor of Wallace’s Farmer
1921-1924:
Served as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and Presidents Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge
1924:
Died in office following gallbladder surgery
1925:
Wallace’s book, Our Debt and Duty to the Farmer, was published posthumously.
